Young Academy Leiden (YAL) is looking for new members
Are you at the start of your academic career and would you like to contribute to community building among early-career scholars? Are you passionate about research and teaching and would you like to have a say on policy, outreach and interdisciplinarity? If so, Young Academy Leiden (YAL) may be just the thing for you.
Who is YAL for?
YAL is for young academics who want to get involved in broader academic and societal affairs. New members are chosen each academic year. Academic staff from Leiden University and the LUMC who received their PhD in the last eight years (from the date of the start of YAL membership) are eligible for membership. In this round, the new members will start in September 2023.
How do you apply?
To apply for membership you will need to send a letter of motivation (500 words max), your CV (2 sides of A4 max) and a letter of support from your head of department stating that you will have the opportunity to devote sufficient time to YAL (four hours per week on average) if you are selected.
Send the documents above to the YAL project assistant Amber Rostamkhan. The deadline is 6 April 2023, 12.00 hrs. Interviews will be held on 11 May 2023.
