Free Pilates classes for staff in Plexus
Are you interested in improving your posture and reducing stress? Would you like to enjoy some exercise after your day’s work? This autumn the University Sports Centre (USC) is again working with Healthy University to offer free Pilates classes in Plexus, specifically for staff members. Following the success of the three sessions held in June, the programme will now be extended to eight additional sessions across eight weeks.
What is Pilates?
Pilates is an excellent way to improve your posture. The method combines controlled muscle-strengthening exercises and stretches to increase the flexibility and strength of the spine. Particularly for those of us who spend a lot of time sitting at a desk, Pilates can be a great solution. It also helps to reduce stress: because your mind is focused on how your body is moving, you don’t need to think about other things for a while. Every class concludes with a relaxation exercise, allowing you to completely unwind.
Target group
Everyone is welcome to join the classes, whether you have experience with Pilates or not.

Interested in other sports?
If you’d like to take Pilates classes at a different time or are interested in other sports, why not look at what the USC has to offer? Staff can buy USC membership at reduced rates, and the Terms of Employment: Individual Choices Model also allows you to offset the membership fee against your gross salary, end-of-year bonus or holiday allowance.
And you’re always welcome to try out a sport with one free visit to one of the USC locations in Leiden or The Hague.
