22 and 23 June: university network and buildings not accessible

21 May 2024

On Saturday 22 June from 9.00 until most of Sunday 23 June 2024, there will be major maintenance on the university network.

This means the following for you

  • During the maintenance work, the university website will (temporarily) be offline.
  • Both at home and at the university, you will not have access to the university network during the maintenance work.
  • University buildings, including the university libraries, will be closed on both days.
  • All systems and applications that require you to log in with your ULCN credentials will be unavailable. You will therefore not be able to access various online services of the university. Brightspace will be available (possibly with a few short interruptions).
  • Are you a researcher? Please note, you may not be able to access your research installations during network maintenance.

Tip

Plan your work so that you will not need access to the university network and university buildings on 22 and 23 June. Also remember to register for your exams on 2 and 3 July before 22 June.

Working remotely

The university network will not be available. Remote Workplace (Citrix) will not be working. Office365 and OneDrive will work as normal. MS Teams will also be available, both the app and the web version.

Email

You will only be able to access your university email via Office 365.

Brightspace

Brightspace will be available (possibly with a few short interruptions).

Telephone system

It will not be possible to call from and to university phone numbers.

Emergency number

If you are abroad and need to call the university's emergency number on 22 or 23 June, call +31 320 33 13 43.

Do you have any questions?

Please contact the ISSC Helpdesk before 21 June via the helpdesk portal, via helpdesk@issc.leidenuniv.nl or +31 (0)71 527 8888.

Please note: in the weekend of 22 and 23 June the Helpdesk will also not be available.

Why this maintenance?

This maintenance will make the university network future-proof with improved bandwidth, higher network speeds and better security.
