Handbook on European law relating to the rights of the child
On 20 November 2015, on the occasion of Universal Children’s Day, the Council of Europe and the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights launched the Handbook on European law relating to the rights of the child.
The handbook is the first comprehensive guide to European law in the area of children's rights, taking into account the case law of the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), as well as the decisions of the European Committee of Social Rights. The Leiden Child Law Department, in particular Prof Dr Ton Liefaard and Simona Florescu LL.M, has been involved in the drafting of this handbook and led a team of experts from European universities, including the University of Geneva, University College Cork, University of Liverpool and the University of Antwerp.
