While teaching, it is important to provide an inclusive, activating learning environment for students. In this section you will find some faculty guidelines to create a good learning environment for you and for students.

Education

Whether it is educational design, practical organisation, the teaching itself, assessment or reflection and innovation - most of what is expected from you as a teacher is part of a bigger process. Some of these processes have strict deadlines, others don't.

A data processing register is a record of which personal data you process and who you share this data with. If you collect personal data for your research, you must record this in the data processing register.

If you bring in a (new) person who will be processing personal data for you, this person is not allowed to use this information for his or her own purposes. You need to formalise this in a data processing agreement. The university will usually have an agreement in place.

PhD candidates spend most of their time on conducting research. However, teaching is another skill you need to acquire as an academic.

At some faculties, postdocs are required to take on teaching duties straight away; at other faculties, this isn’t always the case.
