The philosophers at the Institute of Philosophy develop new perspectives and insights not only on fundamental philosophical questions, but also on topical and interdisciplinary themes such as secrecy, migration, climate change, the politics of truth and intercultural relations.

The master’s in Philosophy is a one-year, English-taught programme. The programme offers five specialisations:

Canonisation as Innovation
Anchoring Cultural Formation in the First Millennium BCE

Classics (800 BCE - 600 CE)
This research cluster aims to analyse and interpret the formation and transmission of Graeco-Roman culture by exploring the relationships between cultural products (texts, objects, practices) and their societal and historical contexts.
