Trial for SAGE Research Methods Datasets

4 March 2020

From the 2nd of March till the 30th of April SAGE Research Methods Datasets can be accessed for trial and testing. The database contains more than 500 datasets using data from real research, and is designed to support the teaching and independent learning of data analysis techniques. Datasets can be browsed by method (e.g. SPSS, survey, Python, R, Stata), by discipline, and by data type.

The datasets are from a broad array of disciplines and contain quantitative as well as qualitative data e.g. surveys, network data, news articles, audio files, ethnographic interviews and field notes, narratives, political speech transcript, videos, website posts.

With every dataset extensive information is provided about the dataset itself, for Faculty who are teaching research methods and statistics (teaching guide) and for students who want to practice independently (student guide).

To have a look, you have to go to the catalogue > tab "Find databases" > SAGE Research Methods Online. Please send your reactions (is SRM Datasets useful or not?) to subject librarian Marijke van Kester
