Temporary access to Gale Primary Sources (18th-20th centuries)
Until July 1st Gale/Cengage provides unlimited access to their platform Primary Sources. These resources consist of numerous historical newspaper collections from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries (from Great Britain and the United States) and other primary sources (i.e. American federal documents, archives on/from China). It’s a true treasure trove for anyone with an interest in early modern and contemporary history.
The platform allows for cross-collection searches as well as document downloads
Leiden staff and students are also entitled to use the Gale Digital Scholar Lab. This cloud-based digital research environment enables users to analyse content sets with ready to go text mining tools, and export tabular data and visualisations.
The library would like to receive user feedback for these temporary resources. Any remarks/suggestions can be forwarded to the subject librarians Patrick Gouw (firstname.lastname@example.org) and/or Tijmen Baarda (email@example.com).
