Corona rules of conduct

2 September 2020

 The safety and health of our students and employees is paramount. Therefore, abide by the government hygiene guidelines and follow all instructions in the buildings as regards walking direction, social distancing, and maximum capacity of offices, labs, and classrooms

All our students and staff who come to the university are subject to the RIVM guidelines:

  • Keep 1.5 meters distance from others;

  • Avoid crowds;

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water;

  • Cough or sneeze in your elbow;

  • Do not shake hands;

  • Use paper tissues and discard them after use;

  • If you experience symptoms, stay at home or go home and contact the GGD (tel. 0800-1202) to make an appointment for a corona test.

Individual responsibility

Enforcing these rules of conduct is first and foremost the responsibility of each individual employee and student. However, it is our joint responsibility to create a safe working environment for everyone: this includes being confident that we can call each other to account in a positive way if we notice breaches of the rules.

It is not obligatory to wear face masks inside our buildings. Some employees may want to wear a face mask for reasons of their own. However, it does not exempt the employee concerned from strictly following the hygiene rules. Wearing a face mask is never an alternative: if you come to work with a face mask, you still keep 1.5 meters distance from others and abide by the hygiene rules.

If you are not feeling well, even with minor symptoms: stay at home and get tested!
