Young Academy Leiden (YAL) publishes her new position paper 'Rethinking Academic Excellence'
YAL has published her new position paper.
In the paper 'Rethinking Academic Excellence' she argues for broadening the concept of 'academic excellence'. According to YAL, excellence should not be equated with obtaining individual research grants, but should be assessed primarily on the basis of the quality of the output.
YAL advocates a sustainable approach to academic excellence in which the process of knowledge creation and academic citizenship is valued.
