Is this art? Who and what decides that? The viewer of course!

Do you want to contribute to the new exhibit in our faculty home? Mail us a photo and description of your artwork to the Art Committee FSW before July 1, 2021. They will reserve a place for you in the Pieter de la Court Building in the exhibition: 'Is this Art? Don't you think?'.

We are the creators

Also important, who makes the art? Creators are everywhere, including in our own environment. If anything is clear from the past year, it's that you don't have to look far. Our students and staff are the new creators. Make whatever you want for the new exhibition in the new academic year 2021-2022: 'This is Art. Right? Works by Staff and Students'.

What?

Paintings, photographs, collages, sculptures, sculptures of recycled plastic; you name it. Make what you want, or rummage through your own collection again. You may also exhibit a series of up to five works.

How?

Mail a picture and description of your artwork to the Art Committee FSW.

You haven't finished your work yet, but would like to make something during the summer? Of course you can. Just let us know that you are working on something. You can reach us at kunstcie@fsw.leidenuniv.nl.

When?

Friday 3 September till the end of December 2021.

Where?

Pieter de la Court Building: on the first floor, in the restaurant, and the corridors on the ground floor. 

Opening

Parallel to the online opening of the faculty academic year 2021-2022.
