LUC The Hague: A Farewell Message
In the past weeks I have said my farewells to LUC and more importantly the people who are LUC. I am deeply touched by all the kind words, the lovely ‘Thank you book’, the video with the alumni, the kind emails and the ‘thank you’s when I met you in the corridors. To all of you who told me that my enthusiasm for LUC on Open Days and Experience nights made you want to apply: I do hope that your experience has matched what I told you there!
But seriously, I do want to thank all of you for being LUC, for making the dream we had twelve years ago come true, for making it even better, more fun and more engaged than I had dared to hope. Of course there have been difficult and challenging times in the past twelve years, but I am lucky that there were so many good moments to more than balance them out. Open Days are actually favorite memories, but so are introduction weeks, the graduations where I get to wear my hats, the pantomimes, the Dies Fatalis and all those other moments when staff and students get together, as well as the short chats I have had with many of you.
If there is one regret, it is that I did not have more time to meet more of you. The LUC students are truly special, each and every one of you in your own way. The students at the University of Twente have a lot to live up to!
I wish all of you the very best for now and the future and I look forward to meeting you at your graduation, at alumni events or reading about your next steps on LinkedIn.
With very best wishes,
If you still want to say goodbye to Lieke, feel free to contribute to her farewell gift here.
