New: Dictionary of Literary Biography

28 September 2021

Gale's Dictionary of Literary Biography (DLB) provides biographical and critical essays on the lives, works, and careers of the world's most influential literary figures from all eras and genres.

Although the emphasis is on America and England , the DLB also provides information about writers from Europe, Asia and South America.

In addition to the biographies, the DLB Yearbooks (1980-2003) can also be found in the database, containing overviews of awards, obituaries, interviews, events and articles in which the literary landscape is discussed.

Access to the DLB is limited to students and staff of Leiden University.
