Empty teaching rooms can be used as group working spaces
From 20 September students will be able to book unused teaching rooms for group work in the Mapiq app.
Successful pilot
These are rooms where no teaching is currently scheduled. The aim is to provide students with more group working spaces. Mapiq is being rolled out throughout the University after a successful pilot at Campus The Hague in 2019.
Teaching rooms always open
This new system means that teaching rooms will always be open. Lecturers will no longer need to collect the key from the Service Desk. They will be able to ask students to vacate the room 15 minutes before their lecture begins. We ask students to leave the room as you found it: tidy up after you and return the furniture to the original layout. Experiences in The Hague have shown that the students using the rooms are unlikely to cause a nuisance. If they do, please contact the Service Desk.
Information signs before launch
In the run-up to the launch on 20 September, information will be provided in the buildings. Signs by the rooms will inform students that they can book them. They will be able to scan stickers with QR codes by the room names. This will take them to a page where they can book the room when it is not in use.
