Leiden Marathon 10 October: Free runners shirt for students and staff
On Sunday 10 October, the Leiden Marathon will take place. Out of all large Dutch running events, the Leiden Marathon will be the first one to take place since the start of the pandemic. With distances from 5k to the full marathon, every runner is welcome. Registration is open till 7 October. So register right away!
Free runners shirt
The University Sports Centre (USC) will also play a role in the Leiden Marathon by supporting students and staff members with a free runners shirt. These shirts are made with high quality materials and have a comfortable fit.
Meet-up location for staff
On the morning of the marathon, staff members can gather from 09:00 onwards at Plexus student center, which is only 7 minutes from the start line. Here you can use the bathroom, store your bags and pick up your runners shirt (if you haven't already done so). You can also take a shower afterwards and share your experiences of the run. There will be coffee, tea, fruits and sports drinks available.
Extras for students
There are also a couple of nice extras for students. During the Leiden Marathon, you will be competing against other students as part of the Dutch Student Championship. When registering for the marathon, do not forget to mention that you are a student so you will automatically be entered in the championship. On top of that, the USC is offering participating students € 5 discount on one-year USC membership. See terms and conditions.
