Once per year, the Leiden University Fund’s (LUF) Committee for Academic Expenditure (Commissie voor Wetenschappelijke Bestedingen, CWB) awards grants for research and teaching projects in various academic disciplines. The LUF intends to use these grants to support young postdoc researchers at Leiden University who are just beginning their careers. In principle, the grants vary from €2,600 to €35,000. These subsidies for talented young academics often serve as an important springboard to prepare applicants for future applications to the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and other institutions.
