Multi-Factor Authentication implemented for remote workplace (Citrix)

1 March 2022

Do you use remote workplace for access to specific applications such as SAP or Bloomreach? If so, please note that from 8 March 2022 Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) will be implemented to further improve the security of remote workplace (the Citrix environment). This means that you will need to carry out an additional step in order to log in. This measure will improve digital security and resilience within the university.

What do you have to do for this?

You may have to take a few steps to set up Multi-Factor Authentication for remote workplace yourself:

  • Have you already set up MFA for particular operational systems or for Brightspace? Then you don’t need to take any additional steps.
  • If you haven’t already set up MFA, you can do this via Account Services. Click on the Multi-Factor Authentication tile to go to the set-up portal for MFA.
  • The simplest and fastest way to set up MFA via ULCN is to use the ‘NetIQ Advanced Authentication App’. NetIQ’s push notifications, make the app is easy to use. In this announcement you will learn how to set up the NetIQ app. If you use other authentication apps, you will receive a code that you have to copy.
  • You can find more information about MFA and an instruction video for setting it up here.

If you have any problems or questions about setting up MFA, please contact the ISSC Helpdesk via helpdesk@issc.leidenuniv.nl or by phone via 071 - 527 8888.
