Summer call LSE Law Review: submissions of legal research papers

15 July 2022

The LSE Law Review (London School of Economics and Political Science) has just released a summer call for student submissions of legal research papers, case notes and blog articles. This could be a great opportunity for your students to potentially have their work published in an academic law journal and win generous cash prizes on offer.

1. Submissions for Publication in the LSE Law Review Main Journal (Deadline: 12 August 2022)

We are currently accepting submissions for publication in the Summer Issue of our Main Journal. The deadline for this cycle of submissions is 12 August 2022, 11.59pm UK Time (GMT+1). We accept:

  • Research Articles: Academic papers of 4,000 to 20,000 words.
  • Case Notes: Academic analysis of 1,000 to 4,000 words of a case.
  • Letters to the Editor:  Comments of up to 2,000 words that address current legal developments or bring to the reader’s attention a legal issue that the author considers important.

All submissions should be about an area within UK, EU, and/or International Law. Articles written on laws of other jurisdictions may be accepted where there is a strong comparative analysis with UK, EU, and/or International Law. Please note that all word counts exclude footnotes.

Prizes are also on offer. Between 2021-2022, we offered 8 prizes ranging up to £300 for the best submissions. There may also be more prizes depending on the number of submissions. Submission guidelines and previously published articles can be found on: https://lawreview.lse.ac.uk/about/submissions/

2. Submissions for Publication on the LSE Law Review Blog (Submissions published on rolling basis throughout summer)

We are currently accepting blog articles of between 1,000 to 4,000 words (excluding footnotes) for publication on the LSE Law Review Blog. There is no deadline as submissions are considered and published on a rolling basis.

Submissions can be on any legal topic within Public, Private, Criminal or International Law. All submissions should be about an area within UK, EU, and/or International Law. Articles written on laws of other jurisdictions may be accepted where there is a strong comparative analysis with UK, EU, and/or International Law.
