Grant call 'HIV cure for all' opened

10 October 2022

Would you like to contribute to the development and implementation of an HIV cure? Sign up by 31 October for the five-day sandpit workshop (9 to 13 January 2023).

Not only (bio)medical researchers

Researchers from different disciplines (social sciences, engineering, economics, psychology and (bio)medical sciences) are welcome to attend.  The selection will be announced in mid-December.

New insights through interdisciplinary collaboration

Every year, over 1.5 million people become infected with HIV, and 650,000 people die of AIDS. Although successes have been achieved in the treatment of HIV, no real breakthrough has yet been achieved. The Dutch Research Council (NWO) and Aidsfonds want to change this. Interdisciplinary collaboration is central to the new grant call ‘HIV cure for all’. This joint effort could lead to groundbreaking new insights into the efforts to cure HIV.

Why take part?

  • You’ll work together with other professionals from different disciplines and areas of expertise on a research proposal.
  • You’ll build a valuable network and expand your own.
  • You’ll have the chance to ‘test’ research methods within another field of work.
  • You’ll be able to enter into alliances with foreign researchers and knowledge institutions.
