Film screening Allard Pierson Museum on Friday December 9
The Allard Pierson Museum will be starting a large-scale provenance research project on its archaeological objects in 2023.
Before the start of this project, they will organize several expert meetings to discuss best practices and gather knowledge on the matter.
In this light, you are all warmly invited to the screening of An Excavation (2022), a documentary (ca. 20 min.) by Maeve Brennan. The documentary follows museum director and archaeologist Vinnie Nørskov and forensic archaeologist Christos Tsirogiannis in their research on some confiscated archaeological artefacts from the disgraced antiquities dealer Robin Symes. The screening is followed by a live Q&A with dr. Vinnie Nørskov and dr. Christos Tsirogiannis.
