Revised procedure requesting post-registration

14 December 2022

The process of requesting post-registration will be changed from 1 January 2023 in line with university policy. The university wants to achieve a more uniform and equal treatment of students with this.

Exam registration process for lecturers

  • Lecturer places a text on Brightspace at the request of the SSC about the need for confirmation via MyStudyMap for examinations and resits.
  • SSC is responsible for further communication (a total of 3 notifications are sent to students for regular exams).
  • If students contact lecturers when they have failed to confirm participation the following applies:
    • Up to 10 days prior to the exam: lecturer refers student to MyStudyMap.
    • 10-1 days prior to the examination: lecturer refers student to (the digital form of) the SSC.
    • During a (re)examination: lecturer does not grant student access to the examination, contact the SSC in case of doubt.

Background information

Since this academic year, students register for a course via MyStudyMap and can directly register for the exam. Students must then confirm their participation in the exam up to 10 days prior to the exam. An email notification on 30, 20 and 10 days prior to the exam should remind them of the need to confirm. If your course is examined, the SSC asks you to post a short text about it on Brightspace. For resits, students can register and confirm via MyStudyMap from 30 days to 10 days prior to the exam.

Sometimes students fail to confirm participation in an exam in MyStudyMap. The student is then de-registered for the examination and cannot take part. A student may then want to request a post-registration. As of 1 January 2023, the student concerned can submit a request via a digital form after which it will be handled by the SSC. For a more detailed description of this new process, please refer to the appendix. Should a student contact you for a request for post-registration, you can refer the student to the registration form for late registration.

Students who appear at the examination without a valid registration can unfortunately no longer be admitted. If a student wishes to attend the examination without valid registration, you can always contact the Digital Testing Helpdesk. If requested, they can inform you about the applicable rules and the status of the student's registration. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact them.
