Join the Columbia Summer Program on American Law in July 2023

8 March 2023

Emerge yourself in subjects such as Constitutional Law, Criminal Litigation, or Litigation, to name but a few, during the 4-week Columbia Summer Law Program, to get a good understanding of the multifaceted American legal system. Another key element of the programme is its interactivity. You will be able to meet professors from one of the world’s most prominent institutions. Not only within, but also outside of the classroom. Whether you are in the midst of choosing a specialisation in your legal career or already settled in your current position, the Columbia Summer Program will certainly help you create new opportunities and gain invaluable legal insights and experience.

The Program is held annually during the entire month of July and is alternatively hosted in Leiden and Amsterdam. In 2023, it will take place in Amsterdam from 3 July to 28/29 July. Application deadline May 1 2023.

The Columbia Summer Law Program is the result of an ongoing, 50-year plus collaboration between three institutions, namely Columbia University, the University of Amsterdam, and Leiden University. Each year, the Summer Program is hosted in either Amsterdam or Leiden, uniting professionals and students from all around the world in an international, interactive, and highly motivated classroom.

Recent, and not so recent, participants have given overwhelmingly enthusiastic evaluations of the Summer Program. Former participants - who are now distinguished judges, political leaders, senior attorneys, business executives, and law professors – regularly show up in great numbers for the formal Summer Law Program reunions and smaller informal reunions in many countries.
