‘Towards Responsible Publishing’: cOAlition S invites your feedback

8 April 2024

Would you like to help improve the world of scholarly publishing — making it more open, sustainable and transparent? Here’s your chance to do just that, by giving feedback on the ‘Towards Responsible Publishing’ proposal.

The recently-published proposal comes from cOAlition S: a consortium of research funders including NRC and NWO.

The proposal outlines a vision and a set of principles that a future scholarly communication system should aspire to, along with a mission that enables research funders – in collaboration with other key stakeholders – to deliver this.

Researchers are now invited to share feedback on the proposal through this survey. By sharing your experiences and perspectives, you will ensure that the final proposal aligns with the needs and aspirations of our academic community.

Take part in the survey

In the survey you will be asked about all aspects of the publication chain, including the need for earlier sharing of work via preprints, for more transparency (e.g., through open peer review) and for a focus on quality instead of traditional metrics.

The survey takes just 10 minutes to complete and was developed in partnership with the Leiden Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS). You can fill out the survey until 22 April.
