Employee Experience Survey: Speak out!

15 April 2025

On 6 May 2025, all staff will find the Employee Experience Survey (successor to the Personnel Monitor) in their mailbox. This survey is sent every two years. Welliba, an independent organisation specialising in employee questionnaires, is conducting this survey for Leiden University using advanced systems to safely process your data.

Work pressure and creating a respectful culture
The previous survey showed that work pressure and a respectful culture are themes requiring attention. Leiden University is conducting further research on this and, by the way, is legally obliged to do so. In order to take further action in view of the results, a high response rate is essential for our faculty. Besides questions on work pressure and creating a respectful culture, you will also be asked about your working conditions, well-being, collaboration, communication, career development and leadership. So your participation in the Employee Experience Survey is very important for us.

Dean Suzan Stoter: ‘This is your chance to speak out as an employee from the perspective of your own role. As a faculty, we manage to get a lot of things done – in our teaching, our research and how we support it. But, of course, there’s always room for improvement. So that’s why we’d like to hear from you where improvements are needed, what we can work on and, of course, what we’re doing well.'

Results
Following the survey two years ago, many discussions took place at our faculty about our own results and those of the separate teams and departments. Using dashboards, all staff members will be able to see the results of the new survey after 20 May 2025. As in previous years, the anonymity and privacy of all respondents is guaranteed when processing the results.
