Hoisting work behind the university library: altered access to car park on 5 November
On Wednesday 5 November, hoisting work will take place at the rear of the University Library as part of the dome replacement. On that day, the section of the Maliebaan adjacent to the library will be temporarily closed. The underground parking garages beneath the Herta Mohr and Aleida Nijland buildings will remain accessible; however, the car park under the Herta Mohr building will only be reachable via the Groenhovenstraat during the works.
The temporary traffic situation will be clearly signposted. A traffic steward will be stationed at the entrance to the Maliebaan to help direct vehicles. The bicycle parkings will remain accessible via the Witte Singel.
Sustainability renovation of the University Library
From July 2025 to March 2026, various major renovations will take place in the University Library. Both the transparent domes, the skylight between both halls and the installations for air treatment and heating will be replaced. This will allow the University Library to be cooled and heated more sustainably in the future.
