New working method online study guide

3 November 2025

We are busy introducing a new method for filling our online study guide. From now on, all study guide texts and the structure of the educational programmes will come from TimeEdit Curriculum (TEC).

In the background, we are currently working the go-live of the study guide processes of the various components.

Changes

  • The structure of educational programmes now comes directly from TEC. This structure forms the basis for the online study guide pages.
  • The way in which study guide texts are delivered will change: from now on, the study guide texts will be entered directly into TEC. The Word templates that teachers provide via email will therefore expire.
  • The website of the online study guide looks slightly different (from 1 June 2026).

Provisional timeline for going live

  • 15 December 2025: study guide processes for the minors and exchange courses
  • March 2026: study guide processes for regular education programs and courses
  • 1 June 2026: the online study guide itself

This schedule is subject to the approval of the steering committee.

Background

Within our faculty, we have been working with TimeEdit Curriculum (formerly AscMe) for some time to draw up and record the structure of educational programs. Since 13 October, all other faculties within Leiden have also joined and the entire university is now working with TimeEdit Curriculum. In doing so, the university has taken an important step towards a more efficient and reliable way of preparing for education. The next step is to transfer our online study guide to TEC.
