Grassfields grant for educational innovations: 2026 round now open
Grassfields is a yearly grant opportunity to scale successful educational innovations within Leiden University.
The Grassfields scheme provides funding for recently completed and ongoing educational projects with the potential for broader application across the faculties. For an example, you can read about the awarding of the 2025 grant.
Practical Information

Funding Amount: €300k is available yearly for one project

Timeline: Projects can last for a maximum of 36 months

Application Deadline: 2 October 2026, before 17:00 hours CEST

Project Pitching: Shortlisted project teams will be requested to join a Pitching and Q&A session with the assessment committee during the week of 2 or 9 November (week 45 or 46)

Final Decision: On or before Friday 4 December 2026, 17:00 hours CEST

Language: Applications can be submitted in either English or Dutch
