Vacancy for second PhD Representative

16 June 2026

The Leiden Law School is seeking a second PhD Representative.

As a PhD Representative, you will maintain accessible and informal contact with PhD candidates across the various institutes and departments of our faculty, in a manner of your own choosing. In doing so, you will gather input on ways to further improve the PhD programme and doctoral experience.

The second PhD Representative will focus specifically on collecting feedback regarding the training programme (courses) offered to our PhD candidates and proactively contributing ideas to strengthen and/or broaden this programme.

The PhD Representatives maintain regular contact with the Graduate School and participate in meetings of the Research Board (OZB) and the Graduate School Board.

The position of PhD Representative is an excellent opportunity to use your knowledge and experience as a PhD candidate to help shape the Faculty’s research policy. It is also an enjoyable and accessible way to learn more about the governance and administrative aspects of academia.

We are looking for a second PhD Representative to start on 1 September 2026. The appointment is for a period of two years.
