The LTC Hub one year on: successes and opportunities
The LTC Hub is the Learning and Teaching Community at Leiden Law School, a digital platform that gathers all education and teaching-related information for teaching staff and support staff. To mark its first year live, we created a survey to learn what users think of the LTC Hub.
Relevant, up-to-date, reliable
Around 50 colleagues shared their thoughts, and the survey results show that the LTC Hub plays an important role in gathering all information relevant for education and teaching. Many of the respondents said they appreciate having all relevant, up-to-date and reliable information about teaching and education available in one place. The search function, central document repository, and the regular updates are frequently mentioned as key strengths of the LTC Hub.
Awareness
There is still room for improvement, however. The Hub is not yet widely known across the organisation, and not all staff know how to access the SharePoint platform. Some users would also like to see an English-language version, which would improve accessibility for our international colleagues. Users are somewhat divided when it comes to the structure and navigation of the Hub. Though people can find what they’re looking for without difficulty, some colleagues still encounter challenges – particularly when searching for specific information in the large volume of available content.
Useful
The feedback we received via the survey provides useful insights for future improvements. By increasing awareness of the LTC Hub, simplifying its access and also offering important documents in English (which is already being done), the platform can align even better with the needs of all teaching staff and education support staff at our faculty.

Explanations requested from respondents:
- Easy to navigate, but with so much information it's sometimes difficult to find the right page
- The information is clearly presented and accurate, I hardly ever have to request additional information
- It's not always clear to me where I can find certain information (e.g. AI is under innovations, but it should also be in the section on assessments)
- A lot of information, easy to find, all in one place
- I actually never took a proper look at the hub until today, but now I’m browsing through it, it seems very useful!
- Shame info is just in Dutch. This can be translated using the browser, but I don't know if this is adequate
- All information in one place; up-to-date information, news items sent regularly, good search function, nice environment
- Personally, I haven't used this part of the Hub a lot. Good that it's there
