Apply for funding for your biotechnology innovation
Are you a researcher, entrepreneur, start-up or scale-up looking to further develop your biotechnology innovation towards the market? If so, you may be eligible for support through the Biotech Booster programme. The Biotech Booster 2027 funding round will open soon.
Biotech Booster supports the valorisation of biotechnological discoveries in the Netherlands. The programme provides funding, guidance and access to a network to help promising technologies progress towards concrete applications and market introduction. More than 120 project teams are now part of the Biotech Booster community.
What funding can you apply for?

Level 1 – Proof of Principle: up to €200,000 per project

Level 2 – Proof of Concept: up to €1.9 million per project
Please note: Biotech Booster is not intended to fund further fundamental research. The programme focuses on early-stage business development and on advancing technologies towards commercialisation and market introduction.
Key dates
Level 2 – Proof of Concept
The application round is open from 25 August to 8 September 2026.
Level 1 – Proof of Principle
The application round is expected to open in Q4 2026.
