Working to build a safe, respectful and inclusive environment

27 August 2026

Would you like to know more about creating a safe and respectful environment, and about Diversity & Inclusion (D&I)[MO1.1]? D&I, HR and Student Well-being have joined forces in a new Teams environment to share knowledge, news and developments on these topics.

In the Teams community, you’ll find information, updates and activities. You can also ask questions, share experiences and connect with colleagues. Interested in these topics? Join the Teams community and share your ideas.

About dignity and respect

The university is committed to fostering a culture of dignity, respect and inclusion. This means that students and staff feel free to express themselves and share their views, including views that differ from those of others. It also means that everyone’s perspective is listened to and taken seriously, and that differences in experience and background are recognised and valued.

A respectful and safe environment also means protecting students and staff from unacceptable behaviour, including intimidation, bullying, discrimination and sexual misconduct. The university is pursuing this through two action plans: one for staff, led by HR, and one for students, led by Student and Educational Affairs (SEA).

About Diversity and Inclusion

The more diverse our university community, the greater the potential for creativity and innovation. This benefits the quality of both teaching and research. That is why the university is committed to providing equal opportunities for everyone, whether in recruitment processes, career progression or the ability to balance work and caring responsibilities.
