Alumni relations
The Development and Alumni Relations department maintains contact with Leiden University alumni to stimulate and strengthen our alumni’s involvement with the University. If you wish to know more about our alumni, or organise an alumni event, do not hesitate to contact us.
Alumni are Leiden University graduates with a bachelor’s or master’s diploma. Students who have completed a PhD or a post-doctoral study programme are also considered to be alumni. Leiden University is eager to remain in contact with its alumni.
Faculty alumni coordinators
Every faculty has its own alumni coordinator. This is your contact person for any questions concerning alumni affairs or organising events, communication resources or how to find information in the alumni database. The alumni coordinator maintains close contacts with the Development and Alumni Relations department.

Development and Alumni Relations
The Development and Alumni Relations department maintains contact with Leiden University alumni. Our aim is to keep alumni in the Netherlands and abroad involved with Leiden University. The department’s activities include
- Communicating with alumni via Leidraad, alumni newsletters and social media
- Managing the alumni database
- Organising Leiden University alumni activities
- Offering various services to alumni
- Facilitating and supporting faculties and study and alumni associations
