How often do you deal with uncomfortable conversations in your role? Conversations which relate to different forms of racism, discrimination, and exclusion? When this happens, do you want to leave or do you take a step closer? Do you know how to lead such conversations or how to facilitate them? Or do you prefer avoiding them hoping that you don’t need to have a ‘real conversation’ about the topic? You can learn to deal with the discomfort that you are experiencing.  There are tools and methods which allow you to recognize what is happening in an abrasive conversation, and how you can give this direction resulting in a successful conversation.

Any managers, heads of departments, chairs or directors interested in this course should send an email to diversitytraining@bb.leidenuniv.nl to discuss the possibilities. More information will be posted on the Diversity and Inclusion Expertise Office webpage shortly.
