The European Research Council (ERC) will relaunch the Synergy Grant funding programme in 2018 (expected deadline 14 November 2017). Luris (Leiden University) and LUMC is therefore organising a joint information meeting for researchers of Leiden University and LUMC on 13 September 2017.
The European Research Council (ERC) Synergy Grant scheme, which ran under two pilot calls in 2012 and 2013, will be re-launched in the ERC Work Programme 2018. It is expected that the call will be published on 19 July 2017, with a deadline of 14 November 2017.
About the ERC Synergy Grants
ERC Synergy Grants (up to 10 M euro for 6 years) are intended to enable 2-4 PI’s to bring together complementary skills, knowledge and resources in new ways, in order to jointly address ambitious research problems.
The aim is to promote substantial advances at the frontiers of knowledge, to cross-fertilize scientific fields and to encourage unconventional approaches and investigations at the interface between established disciplines.
Please note this is a highly competitive programme: the overall success rate of the Synergy pilot calls in 2012 and 2013 was only 2.1%.
In addition, applying for a Synergy Grant has implications for your eligibility to apply for another ERC grant types and depending on the outcome may also result in re-submission for the 2019 calls. Please contact Luris or LUMC for further advice.
