- Den Haag
On 30 September 2017, a group of students from various Dutch universities, led by Dr Aminata Cairo, will organise the first UN/DIVIDED Conference at Wijnhaven, Turfmarkt 99, in The Hague. Motivated by the desire to offer student perspectives on heated diversity debates, this national conference seeks to bring students together. The goal is to kick the academic year off with a day in which we share experiences, doubts, worries and dreams.
We are proud to announce writer and scholar Sinan Çankaya as our keynote speaker. He will start the day with an inspiring talk about micro-revolutions. We then invite students and student-inspired people to engage in a variety of workshops, lectures and dialogues in different forms. The workshop topics covered include: decolonisation and coloniality in education, intersectionality, how to talk about privilege, and more. We do not just want to educate and inspire: as the academic year has just started, the conference is fertile ground for networking with one another, and activating and initiating new ventures.
Ticket information can be found on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/StudentsUnDivided/
Entry for students is free of charge, but registration is required. For professionals, tickets are 25 euros.
