LTA Lunch lecture: innovation and new technology, what works?

Educational innovations often involve new technology. Many teachers like to experiment with new technology, and many students like to spend their time on it.
So evaluations often show increased satisfaction. Do we really help students to become better or do we just give them a good excuse to deviate even more from learning? How do we show the efficacy of our innovations?
Coming from a hard-core science background, Hierck founds it very difficult to step into the field of educational research to determine the effect you instigate (or not!) with new technology on learning. In this lunch meeting he will address some of the highs and lows he came across in his journey to investigate 3D learning with AR/VR technology.
