Active Learning in SA37
Designing spaces for active teaching and learning can have a large impact on learning outcomes, but comes with many practical challenges. The Active Learning network attempts to bring together this expertise and push active learning further. We meet monthly in the various active learning spaces within the University to explore how they were developed, and how they can be used effectively for teaching & learning. You can view the existing spaces for active learning and teaching at the project page: https://www.universiteitleiden.nl/active-learning/classrooms
In November, we meet in the Yellow Lab, room SA37 in the Pieter de la Court building. This room has been rennovated to better support active learning and teaching. To hear an example of how the room can be used, we will hear from Mark Westmoreland, associate professor and teacher, from the Institute of Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology.
The network is for academic and non-academic staff. Students are also very welcome in the network.
