PhD Introduction Day
- Monday 27 January 2020
2311 GJ Leiden
Your career as a PhD candidate at Leiden University or Leiden University Medical Center starts with the introductory meeting. These meetings are organised five times a year, and are compulsory for all new PhD candidates, preferably within the first 2-3 months after registration.
First of all, the Executive Board will welcome you as a new scientist. Subsequently, several speakers will discuss subjects that will help you to become part of our academic community. For instance, there will be presentations on scientific integrity and special courses for PhD candidates.
Workload of five hours
Participation in the introductory meeting carries a study load/workload of five hours. To ensure you are registered properly in Converis, you need to be present until at least 5.30 pm and you should make your presence known to the organisers. You can sign out by handing your badge in at the reception desk.
Mingle and meet
Of course there is plenty of time to mingle and meet fellow PhD candidates, who have also recently started their doctoral research, during a drink after the meeting.
