PhD Introduction Day (online)
- Monday 6 July 2020
- Online, via Kaltura
Your career as a PhD candidate at Leiden University or Leiden University Medical Center starts with the introductory meeting. These meetings are organised five times a year, and are compulsory for all new PhD candidates, preferably within the first 2-3 months after registration.
First of all, the Executive Board will welcome you as a new scientist. Subsequently, several speakers will discuss subjects that will help you to become part of our academic community. For instance, there will be presentations on scientific integrity and special courses for PhD candidates. You will also get the opportunity to meet other PhD Candidates and there will be enough room to ask your questions.
Participation in the introductory meeting carries a study load/workload of five hours. As part of the compulsory course on Scientific Integrity normally there is a theatre performance at the introductory meeting. This performance will be organised later this year.
