08:00-08:45 Power Yoga (ENG + NL)

This powerful and dynamic form of yoga strengthens and relaxes your muscles. A lot of attention is paid to good posture and finally well-deserved relaxation.

09:00-09:20 Coffee corner (ENG + NL)

Besides not being able to go the Leiden University or the LUMC for work, you also miss daily contact with colleagues during this period. Human contact is an essential  part of  your daily work and keeping in touch with others benefits your work. Research has shown that social support is also important for reducing symptoms of stress. People with a strong social network have a higher life expectancy and a better immune sustem. During the Healthy University Week 2020 we organize Kaltura Coffee Breaks. A nice way to start a conversation with familiar and / or new colleagues while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. Do you like networking? Are you new at Leiden University or the LUMC? Or do you just want to chat? Use the Kaltura Coffee Breaks to expand your network or meet new people.

09:30-10:30 Mindfulness workshop (ENG)

The workshop focuses on introducing (or refreshing) mindfulness for the ordinary employee. A nice combination is made between theory and practice, leaving enough room for the why. Because why would you want to interrupt your daily routine to feel bored with nothing to do at all? After this workshop, you will have: 

  • knowledge of and about mindfulness 
  • insight into the effects of mindfulness 
  • practiced with a number of short, easy exercises 
  • gained inspiration on how to apply mindfulness in your daily life

14:30-15:30 Workshop: Your energy level (ENG)

A high energy level before, during and after work. How do you do that? This workshop explains what nutrition does to you, both mentally and physically. After this workshop, you will understand what causes your afternoon dip and more importantly how to avoid it. What does sugar do with your energy level? To eat bread or not? Is coffee a good choice? After this workshop, you can hopefully adjust your nutrition in such a way that you remain alert, focused and energetic throughout the day!

15:00-15:45 Cool, calm and collected! Addressing work pressure at Leiden University -Postdocs- (ENG)

In these interactive sessions, academic staff join group discussions of 5 to 6 people about work pressures at Leiden University. What sorts of work pressure do you face in your role, where does it come from, how can the organisation help, and what actions can you take? We want to hear from you to help improve policy.
