Online Lunch for Humanities Early-Career Scholars
On Tuesday, February the 9th, the Young Academy Leiden is hosting an online Humanities Faculty Lunch between 12:00 and 13:00. The Faculty Lunch is an informal get-together for early career staff members of the humanities faculty; a way to take a social break from work and talk about specific issues that are relevant to all of us.
For our next lunch, we would like to open up a conversation about outreach and science communication. We will first briefly share some of our ideas to improve the support for outreach, including a mentorship programme and a list of resources. After this, we would like to talk about the obstacles you run into and about your best efforts in sharing your work in the humanities with the broader public. With your input, we hope to work on ways to help promote your successes and tackle the challenges.
We regret that we still can't offer you a real lunch, but we very much hope to do so once we can meet again in person; of course, feel free to eat your own lunch during the meeting. We sincerely look forward to seeing you there and have a chat.
