About this event
In 2018 the Hendrick de Keyser association launched Museum Houses: a series of characteristic examples of the history of Dutch housing. Among them are some well-known 18th century interiors. The Museum Houses represents a shift in thinking about the public“s access to the properties of the association. On the basis of various cases this presentation will take a closer look on the problems that can arises when 18th century interiors become part of a Museum House. How to display for example wall hanging that have been lost? Do rooms need to be refurnished? And how to involve visitors in a domestic culture that is far removed from ours?
