Career Lunch Series #3 by LSA Leiden

We are very excited to invite you to the third session #3 of the "Career Lunch Series" organized by LSA Leiden the study association of the Master's program MSc: Law & Society.
For this event, we are pleased to be joined by Professor Dr. Janine Ubink, Director of the MSc Law & Society. She is a Professor of Law, Governance, and Development at the Van Vollenhoven Institute (Leiden Law School), and her research centers around African law and governance. After having studied law at Leiden University she continued to acquire her PhD in legal anthropology. She will elaborate on the opportunities and experiences of obtaining a PhD at Leiden University and other possibilities.
Secondly, Judith van Uden, PhD candidate at the Van Vollenhoven Instituut of Leiden University will share her PhD experiences, and insightful tips with the students! Judith is part of the current research project: “Living on the Other Side: A multidisciplinary Analysis of Migration and Family Law in Morocco.”
We look forward to hearing about both of our guest speakers' PhD paths & experiences!
The career lunch date series are organized bi-weekly in April-May. This session will focus on the opportunities and challenges around obtaining a PhD. We will open the floor for students to ask any of their career questions, may it regard the PhD proposal, the application, or financing.
Our Career Lunch Date series aims to provide students with the opportunity to ask career orientation questions, and receive advice, as well as getting a unique insight into the professional field of interest.
