For the 6th Open Minded session of this academic year, Aviva de Groot, PhD candidate at Tilburg University will present her research
Voices from multidisciplinary discourse warn how fundamental rights are harmed when we can’t explain AI-supported decisions. But identifications of the problem differ across disciplines, and so do proposed solutions. This talk introduces a path towards coherence, starting from an amended problem statement: many ‘algorithmic harms’ are exposed in environments where explanation was well regulated. What should that teach us?
