Alumni event | Job market Preparation
LUCAS PhD Alumni Network Event
- Thursday 17 June 2021
On Thursday 17 June 2021 LUCAS (Centre for the Arts in Society) will host a meeting for PhD alumni and Phd candidates.
Please note that at the special request of many participants we have rescheduled this meeting to 17.00-19.00 CET.
Have you graduated from LUCAS (previously known as Pallas and LUICD) and received your PhD from Leiden University? You are most welcome to join us at this festive event. We hope that you are willing to tell us about your career and experiences since your graduation at Leiden University during the speeddate sessions. Our current PhD candidates are hoping to meet you, their predecessors, and to learn from you about the challenges and opportunities of the job market.
We are very happy that some LUCAS graduates have shown their interest to tell their story in a plenary setting. There will also be time for speed dating. We hope that during the speeddate you will be willing to tell about your experiences since your PhD Ceremony. In this way PhD candidates are hoping to learn more about the possibilities and challenges of the job market. The program is as follows:
17.00-17.10 Welcome and introduction
17.10-17.40 Plenary presentations:
- Max van Duijn (University Lecturer Media Technology, LIACS, Universiteit Leiden)
- Ylva Klaassen (Institute Manager, Director of Education, LUCAS, Universiteit Leiden)
- Remco Sleiderink (Professor of Medieval Dutch Literature, Universiteit Antwerpen)
17.40-18.30 Speeddating in Breakout Rooms
