Connect and Share: supporting users of Research Drive

Monday 13 September 2021
With optional continuation of discussion until 1230.

Supporting users of Research Drive

Research Drive is a national, cloud-based, shared storage service, designed for collaborative teams and offered and supported by SURF. It was demonstrated to Leiden University Data Management Network members in January 2020, and then introduced as a pilot service for a number of Leiden research groups during 2020-2021.

If you've been supporting Research Drive, or you would like to hear from, or ask questions to, some of the support staff involved in these pilots, then come along to this informal meeting and help think about how to prepare to roll out the service more widely across Leiden.

Anyone is welcome, whether you have been using, or supporting users of, Research Drive, or not.

  • Lightning presentations from the pilot: key questions encountered when introducing Research Drive to researchers.
  • Open discussion: what you need to know to propose, introduce, and support the use of Research Drive as it moves from pilot to standard service across the university.
  • Round-up and next steps: beyond the Research Drive pilot for Leiden University and SURF.

Data Management Network members should have already received a meeting link. Please contact datamanagement@library.leidenuniv.nl if you did not, or you’re not a member of the network but would also like to receive the meeting invitation.

This event is part of the “Connect and …” series of meetings arranged by, and for, the Leiden University Data Management Network.

The meetings take around the middle of the month, every month, at different days and times, so as to maximize access according to people’s different working hours. Topics and speakers are proposed by members of the Network.

You can post a suggestion in the Network’s MSTeams space, or write to datamanagement@library.leidenuniv.nl, if you have a topic you'd like to discuss in a future meeting and the CDS team will help to make it happen
