Training: Research Data Management in Archaeology

On 29 November, the Faculty of Archaeology, the Center for Digital Scholarship and ARCHON will organise a training on Research Data Management.
Data management involves the creation, safe storage and preservation of research data. From 2020 onwards, it is a Leiden University guideline for PhD researchers to develop an Data Management Plan at the start of their project. The training aims at PhDs in the first phase of their research, but is open to all researchers interested.
The training will take place from 10:00-17:00 via Zoom. Exact details will follow in the meeting request that you will receive after your registration.
In the training the following topics are covered:
- How to write a Data Management Plan
- Data Management activities during research
- Data management in Archaeology (Field work, Archaeological data)
- Archiving your data and open science
- Data Management Guidelines
Your attendance is highly valued and strongly recommended, since you will receive updated information on Leiden University Data Management requirements and guidelines, and you will have the opportunity to get expect advice and recommendations regarding your own data management (plan).
