Connect & Pitch: "FAIRification as a Service" and "Informed Consent"

Wednesday 13 April 2022
MS Teams

In this Connect & Pitch we will discuss two proposals for collaboration for members of the Data Management Network.

Kristina Hettne will first pitch a task-group to develop FAIRification as a Service model at both LUMC and Leiden University. The pitch is aimed at data stewards and other support staff interested in developing a workflow to aid researchers in FAIRifying their data. Kristina will briefly explain how this workflow will build on existing approaches such as the Three-Point FAIRification Framework and the Bring Your Own Data (BYOD) workshops. You can read more about the goal and proposed activities of the task-group in this document, also in Network's MSTeams space.

A second pitch is aimed at improving support for Informed Consent at Leiden University. Informed consent forms are developed and reviewed for the purpose of the Ethics Committees, Privacy procedures and RDM. We will briefly look into informed consent from these three perspectives and then discuss what we can do to help Leiden researchers in drafting informed consent forms that fit all purposes. With a contribution from Max van Arnhem, the Privacy Officer of the Faculty of Humanities, among others.

Please do let us know if the MSTeams space is inaccessible to you. We look forward to hearing your thoughts on these topics, and your interest in developing better support in these areas. Let us know if you have a topic you'd like to discuss at a future event

Data Management Network members should have already received a meeting link. Please contact datamanagement@library.leidenuniv.nl if you did not, or you’re not a member of the network but would also like to receive the meeting invitation.

About Connect & events

This event is part of the “Connect and …” series of meetings arranged by, and for, the Leiden University Data Management Network. The meetings take around the middle of the month, every month, at different days and times, so as to maximize access according to people’s different working hours. Topics and speakers are proposed by members of the Network.

You can post a suggestion in the Network’s MSTeams space, or write to datamanagement@library.leidenuniv.nl, if you have a topic you'd like to discuss in a future meeting and the CDS team will help to make it happen
