The Honours Class 'A Better World is Possible' opens its doors for an exclusive guest lecture with Benedikt Franke, CEO of the Munich Security Conference. During this exchange, Dr Franke will share his insights into current security challenges, how the Russia-Ukraine war will affect the future of European security and global order, and what the chances are for diplomacy to resolve this conflict. With the current security challenges in mind, how can we contribute to a better world?

About the speaker
Benedikt Franke is the Chief Operating Officer of the Munich Security Conference and responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation and the strategic development of its formats and activities. Additionally he serves as the Executive Director of the Munich Security Conference Foundation. Before joining the MSC, he served as Senior Advisor for Strategic Affairs at the Headquarters of the Christian Social Union (CSU) and was part of the inner campaign team for the successful local, state and federal elections in 2013. Before that, Benedikt worked as Special Assistant for the former Secretary-General of the United Nations and Nobel Laureate Kofi Annan. Benedikt Franke holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge and a Master’s Degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He publishes regularly on foreign affairs.
