Museumnacht Leiden 2022
- Saturday 28 May 2022
- Various museums in Leiden
It’s Museum Night Leiden on 28 May 2022, all being well in the familiar in-person form. Thirteen museums will open their doors, giving visitors the unique opportunity to experience these locations in a different light. A visit to these museums will be all the more special with a packed programme of events, lectures, performances, photo locations, workshops, experiments and much more. The theme of this year’s edition is 'Déjà Vu', and it promises to be an unforgettable evening with something for everyone!
Museum Night Leiden will start with the official opening at Beestenmarkt. From here, visitors can follow the Nachtpad: a special route for Museum Night that leads to the participating museums and the various parts of the programme. For those who can’t get enough, there will be a Museum Night after-party.
In contrast to other museum nights in the Netherlands, Leiden Museum Night is a collaboration between students and museums. Under the umbrella of the Leiden Museum Night Foundation, 16 students from A.L.S.V. Quintus organise a night that is accessible to all. This year they are doing so in cooperation with CORPUS ‘journey through the human body’, Leiden Heritage, Hortus Botanicus Leiden, Japan Museum SieboldHuis, Molenmuseum de Valk, Museum Het Leids Wevershuis, Museum Volkenkunde, Museum de Lakenhal, Naturalis Biodiversity Center, the Old Observatory, Rijksmuseum Boerhaave, Rijksmuseum van Oudheden and Taalmuseum Leiden.
